Beijing: ChinaChina’s capital, Beijing, has issued a regulation encouraging FWD installation as a means of source separation in the kitchen and to help reduce refuse. The regulation, Chapter 3, Article 25, encourages FWD installation in those residential districts with good infrastructure and in upper-income households. The article states: “The Municipality encourages the minimization of the production of household by means of marketing pre-processed vegetables, and promotes qualified food waste disposers to be installed in those residential districts with good infrastructure and upper-income households.” Back to Research and policy updates
